🧱 Part 1: Access the Site Editor
Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
Go to Appearance → Editor (this opens the Site Editor).
Twenty Twenty-Five is a block theme, so you’ll use the Site Editor to create templates visually.
🧩 Part 2: Create a New Template for Blog Posts
In the Site Editor, click the Templates icon (stacked layers on the left sidebar).
Click “Add New” → “Single”.
Choose “Post” (this tells WordPress this template is for blog posts).
Give it a name, e.g.
Single Post Template.
✏️ Part 3: Build Your Layout
You’ll now see a blank page — this is where you design your reusable blog layout.
Add a Header block (or reuse your site’s existing header template part).
Add a Post Title block.
Add a Post Meta block (for author, date, categories, etc.).
Add a Featured Image block.
Add a Post Content block — this is where your actual blog text will appear.
Add a Separator, Comments, or Related Posts block as needed.
Add a Footer block (or reuse your global footer).
💡 Tip: You can group sections in “Group” blocks or use “Columns” for layouts (e.g., sidebar + content).
🎨 Part 4: Style the Template
Use the block settings panel (right sidebar) to set:
Font sizes and colors
Spacing (margins, padding)
Background colors or borders
You can also adjust global styles under Styles → Typography/Colors if you want the same look across all posts.
💾 Part 5: Save and Assign
Click Save (top right).
If prompted, confirm to save your new template.
Go back to Templates → Single → Posts and confirm your template is active.
You can also assign it to specific post categories or authors using Template Conditions (if available in your setup).
🧰 Optional: Turn It into a “Reusable Template Part” or “Pattern”
If you want a reusable layout starter for future posts (not a global template):
Create a new post under Posts → Add New.
Add your ideal layout — title, image, intro text, etc.
Select all blocks → click the three dots → “Create Pattern” → “Reusable”.
Give it a name like “Blog Post Layout Template.”
Next time, insert it by typing
/and searching for your saved pattern.
